The breaking up was the 2 step set to 5500. I like to set it a little lower if I plan to do burnouts and its quicker to adjust than in HPT. Plus it sounds cooler than a normal rev limiter.
i was thinking of getting one for my zo6 i asked around and was told it just set for launching and not active when shifting? im on the fence about one since i was in full send mode next to a built cts-V bumped the rev limiter on a shift and timing chain left the party @ 7100rpm's lol

There are 2 ways to set it. You can have it activated for a launch where it will then shut off after the launch so you can leave at say 4,000 and then once you've launched the 2 step shuts off and reverts the limiter back to whatever the ECU is programmed to. Or you can set it to have on all the time which is what I do because I haven't played around with it enough to figure out the launch setting nor have I been to the track.

oof. What chain? And what damper?
For those curious there is the LS2 damper which is inside the chain, and there is the LY6 damper which is a spring loaded deal on the outside of the chain. I selected the LY6 style for me build so I can have more **** break. I mean so I can have the chain constrained in the direction it wants to grow. Silly autocorrect

ls6 so no dampener my car being 01 block was not drilled, chain was the ls2 that was installed when i swapped cams less then 10k on it was bought from a local GM dealer. the 416 will have a timing chain dampener and a better chain! expensive lesson
Wrangled enough neighborhood drunks to get the bed and tail lights on. Needed gas badly so drove it to town and even made it to a taco shop about 35 miles total.
