Talking 5.3 to LQ4 swap

Hey guys! got a 02 Sierra that is going to get a new motor. Been pondering the thought of doing the 6.0 swap. Just what all does this involve. Been told the harness will not work. Also been told the 4L60 will not work. What gives? Found a LQ4 with 50K on it for $1500 complete with acc. Really would like to have a motor with alot of attitude. The more I read on here the dumber I get-Brainstrain!

Your harness and 4L60e will work. All of your accessories will work as well.

Swap the flexplate from the 5.3 to the LQ4 and everything else is plug and play. You could even run it on the stock tune but definitely get it retuned.

It's a direct swap (besides the flexplate). Pull your 5.3 and set it next to the 6.0 and you'll see that they're identical, on the outside anyway lol.

O and you'll also need to take the intake manifold and throttle body off of the 5.3 and reuse it as well. Don't worry, both manifolds and throttle bodies are the same size and flow the same amount of air.

Yup, other than the intake, throttle body, and flexplate, it's a direct swap. As stated, the blocks are identical on the outside. I reused all of my accessories as well. Also, if you don't have longtubes and want to do them, now is a perfect time. When you get the old motor out, lay the longtubes in, drop the new motor in, and bolt them up!
