I highly doubt thats your problem in this case though. A Malfunctioning ECU is not very common

If you can, Borrow a scanner and make sure it is comanding the 3rd-4th Shift. If it is you will have to most likely go inside the VB and look at the 3-4 spring, valve, 3-4 check ball. If nothing appears wrong there Your gonna have to dig deeper. Like I said I am not a transmission expert but after looking at the diagrams I think thats the way you are gonna have to go.

I am sure if it gets to that point, I will send it up the road to my buddy. I am just trying to save my bud a ton of money, if that was the issue... Thanks

No problem!

We all have or issues thats why were on this site.
Like I said I am no transmission expert but I am all for saveing money when it comes to fixing my own stuff.

I totally hear ya.. Hell I am lucky I can do 95% of the stuff to my truck, toys that is done, other wise it would be a stock truck with boltons, cuz I could never afford the rates places charge to do it

John - You can scan whatever you want with EFILive as long as it supports that vehicle(which it does). You just can't tune any other vehicles without another license available.

REALLY. John I did not know this.. I will check it out, but I am not even sure how to get into the area of it that I need to. I am not big into this at all, im not going to lie

This is true... You just go into the scan function.
For some reason I miss read what you posted and I though your cable was messed up.

You only need the license when you flash callibration files into the ECU.
