Default 4L80E Transgo Shift Kit Install Help

I am finishing up the shift kit on my 4L80e. Im in the process of finishing up the transgo HD-2 shift kit on my 4l80e. I replaced the spring for the reverse/low servo piston per the transgo instructions. When I reinstall the piston into the trans, I don't believe that the servo piston is pushing into the trans as far as it should be. The piston is seated up in the piston housing near the front of the trans, however the piston face is slightly below the piston housing edge towards the rear of the pan. If I try to install the accumulator cover, there is approximately a 1/8 gap between the cover and piston housing faces due to cover to piston contact towards the rear of the pan. I can install the accumulator cover flush with all the bolts with ease, however I believe I remember the piston being farther up in the piston housing when I disassembled. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The spring pressure is consistent with my experiences with these. Fairly strong spring too, takes force to hold the cover down while you get the bolts in. Doesn't seem like a problem to me.
