Where did my trans fluid come from? :s
I bought a chevy express van 2006 5.3 awd for work, it was a 18 hour drive back from where i got it so i checked all the fluids before i left, trans fluid was just in level "Hot" and i had been driving it for 5 minutes for a small test drive so it seemed normal to me, i started driving back and had been driving for 14 hours at 70-75 mph then speed limit changed to 80 so i up the speed to 80-80 mph for 1 hour or so when i saw smoke behind me, i stoped and i saw trans fluid on my exhaust and all parts till the axle under the van :s thinking i was screwed i checked trans fluid level and i was over max, checked it a couple of times and sure thing it had to much fluid and i had been losing some already :s i drove a little everything seemed fine and i checked again and same, drove another 3 hours without a problem
Next day i got under the van and took this picture (2 tubes wish have kinda like a cap on them, ventalation maybe :s) seems like the fluid came from the left one
Van had been fleet serviced right before i bought it, could it be that they overfilled the transsmission?

Transmission was probably puking out the vent. The tube should have been routed to the top of the transmission, puking means overfilled or overheated, or internal (serious) problems. If it's reading too high, it's likely overfilled.
