Trans is dead, time for number 3
#1
Well here we go, trans is pretty much dead. 2-4 Band is out. So limping around to work and home with 1st and 3rd till i get some more cash and get a new trans.
Alright, i've been researching. Looked at GM crate, FLT, eatmyshift(monster transmissions), Ebay transmissions(aka Goodfellas, and some other brands), Carolina performance transmissions. yada yada.
Anybody i know FLT is a bigger brand for built transmissions, but has anyone else dealt with other trans comp. for built units.
Any info or advice would be great. Mods are minor but future mods would be headers(sitting in my room) and would like to atleast do a cam swap.

PT has sponsors that offer GREAT products and services!
FLT & Performabuilt have satisifed customers here. Both shops' personnel are knowledgeable, have years of experience, and offer a great deal to members of PT.net.
That being said, the price is definitely worth what you'll pay. Don't go the cheap route, as you know the ole saying, right?!!
There's an RCSB 5.3L (Bluecajun5.3) that's run mid-12s N/A with a Performabuilt trans (without issue). On that same note, I know a few guys here (personally) that have bought FLT L4s & L5s that have beat the snot out of 'em with LS1s and LQ4s. I've had great service and advice buying parts from FLT. Good luck with whichever route you choose. Ive done the ebay thing, and it wasn't worth the trans output... but, it was great for rebuilding knowledge and a couple of hard parts.

I was driving to my girlfriends house got off the highway and all the sudden no 2nd or 4th. I have had this rebuild for 8 months, 2 months passed warranty. Really didn't even beat on it.
Most likely will be going FLT or Permformabuilt.
pt.net? is that performancetrucks.net?
