parts required to swap a t56 onto 01 5.3?

I still havnt swapped the engine in my truck yet, soo i can still change my wiring/PCM/mounts to correspond with w/e trans i decide on. Anyways, will a t56 bolt up to a 5.3? Just use a Ls1 flywheel, clutch, slave cylinder and thats it? I read something a long while ago about the crank spacing on the flexplate/flywheel mounting surface being different than the ls1. true or false?
Then of course i need the 3rd pedal, master, and the plumbing. I still dont have a driveshaft, so thats not an issue for now.

i know this thread is kinda old but i have an ls swapped 1994 silverado c1500 and i have a gen III 5.3 and its cammed and tuned but i decided i wanted to ditch the 4l60e and do a t56 and manual swap it i read through this whole thread but i just wanted to make sure im going to this correctly the 1st time so if i were to order a clutch kit it would have to be from a 98-02 camaro?Ive always done all the work myslef,Ive manual swapped a mustang before but thats way diffrent than manual swapping and engine and transmission in something that does come from factory.

Most of that thread is pretty much correct. I just did a t56 swap in the last 5ish years. I can give you my 2 cents. Make sure and get atomics clutch pedal bracket.

You dont have to get a stock camaro clutch, it all depends on what your power level is. I had a stock LUK clutch kit, but recently put a blower on my truck so had to go to a twin disc, which I went to a monster. You can go with any clutch as long as it says its for a 98-02 fbody (t56).
When you punch the hole for the master make sure you pick the right spot, there is a dimple and also a raise bump close to each other. I picked the wrong spot and now have a ugly hole.
I still have my stock driveshaft, since your truck is a little older than mine its hard to speak to the wiring. All I really did was connect the two wires mentioned in that thread or else your truck wont start. I have yet to wire up reverse lights or revese lockout. Still drives just low hanging fruit I havent addressed. Mine was a GTO t56 so had to swap the shifter cup out to a camaro as well. Hope this helps
