Default temp increase after new stall??

is it normal to see a trans temp increase after a converter swap???
I went from a 2800 to a 3200 stall, before temps would hang from 170-180 now its more like 190-200degrees??? I know the weather is hot down here so that does not help..... I have a small tranny cooler, I think I will be going with a bigger one...

yup! Your just slipping at any speed under the rated stall so that causes heat to build.

If the converter is not locking it will be way hotter......
in town it will be hoter, but at highway it should be about the same (lock all the time) maybe a a little bit hotter but not much..

That is completely normal. In case you don't already have one, a tranny cooler would definitely help you out and extend transmission life...

do you know what GVW your trans cooler is rated to. i have a "3200" ~3400 stall with a 20-22000 GVW cooler. my temps quickly rise to about 150, slowly to about 180 and usually max out right before 195 if im doing ALOT of stop and go driving but those temps arent bad. im looking into a transcooler from OPT for 51.99 30000 GVW. comes with installation kit too, PM if you want the link.

yes, it will build up heat, especially when the converter iis unlocked.
also the smaller diameter, (assuming it's a 10") is going to build up more heat than a stock 12".
