What are you guys doing on the GMT900 NNBS trucks to swap over to the
4L80 trans? RPM says you need to change out the transfer case. Phoenix transmission makes a custom output shaft to fit the transfer case with a customer adapter also. You have to spend a lot more money but he makes it all from the converter, trans, with bell housing cover, and free shipping.

 

Not sure if its any different for 07+ but on the 99-07 you only need to change the input shaft on the tcase. Costs about $120 online.

 

I did see that with the older trucks. I didn't know for sure how this works with the newer transfer case.

 

I ended up getting everything from Phoenix transmission. He makes the billet output shaft to fit my transfer case. Comes with everything from dipstick and tube to dust cover. How far does the crossmember need to move back on a 4wd??

 

2.5 inches

 

I have a lot of down time right now to do this before the engine and trans show up. If you are sure I will cut it and weld it up.

 

Did you get my PM? I measured 2 5/8" this morning. Just welded a piece of angle iron onto the crossmember, worked fine. Even if you are off a little bit it doesn't matter because the hole needs to be slotted anyway.

 

Yes I got it. I just thought you were referring to 2wd and 4wd was different.

i was about to say that no one at this time has an input for the NNBS transfer case's.
when i was looking at the 80e swap, the only solution i could come up with was switching outputs on the 80e. glad u got it figured out.

 

Had my friend, Rich, cut the crossmember and tack weld it 2.5" back. Once I confirm it fits he'll finish it up. Should look really good. He tig welds everything.
