Hi i have a quick question. So i have a 2002 silverado 4x4 with spindles on the front and a flip kit in the rear, what can i do to level it up with the flip kit?

 

Lowering keys and/or aftermarket lower control arms.

Just curious what spindles do you have?

I just recently lowered my 4wd 96 Tahoe with lowering keys and drop shackles. The only options I know of to get another inch in the back is to get some shackles or a flip kit and the stock shackles. I have read about people clamping the leaf springs and getting another inch or so, would that really be an option for me? And how does is ride......effect pinion angle

 

Anyone here with a lowered 1500 4wd have any experience with running a Straight center link/drag link?

Anyone subscribed here know if a Diesel center link is a direct swap into a 1500???

 

Not sure if they will swap , but I will tell you , I bent the front center link on my DURAMAX , and when I replaced it I couldn't believe how much larger the OD of it was . It's a beefey piece but 1000FTlbs TQ, 7000lb vehicle and 35" tires were too much for her lol.

 

Here's my 06 RCSB 4x4 I picked up for a work commuter, just installed lowering keys up front and the rear has the blocks removed and drop shackles.








The drop shackles were already installed so I didn't have a true starting point, but I'm guessing it's around a 2/4 drop. Current fender measurements from hub to fender are 18.5" up front and just over 20" in the rear. I like how low the front is, but I would of liked to have it sit more level. I'm thinking about turning up the keys to raise the front end a bit.

Don't really want to invest in a flip kit/c-notch or do hangers at the moment so the back is kind of stuck at that height. Only other option is to clamp the overloads on the rear springs... I've "heard" that if you do it at the front it will give you about an extra 0.75" of drop and not change the ride drastically. That would leave me with around 1" of rake if I leave the front end alone. A little rake probably won't hurt as I'll be adding a couple sandbags to the box for extra traction in the winter months.

Has anyone tried this? Also I've searched long and far, does anyone know the stock fender measurements for a NBS Reg Cab Short Box 4x4??? I'll I can find is 19.5/21.5 but that's for a 2WD.

 

which spindles do you guys suggest for awd belltechs? i had the McGaughys but the clearance was to tight above cv"s for my liking

 

I've put the McGaughy's on 3 trucks that I've owned and have piled on a ****-ton of miles on all of them without a single complaint.

The bell-techs and others cause issues with bump steer amongst other related offenses related to a crappy design.

McGaughy's actually sued and WON against another competitor because they copied McGaughy's design, the result required them to go back to an inferior design, to me that speaks volumes as to their design.
