Are you planning on removing the torsion bar crossmember to ? I can see a weight savings there too.. Not sure if you're concerned about frame flexing if its removed or not ? (thinking out loud here-->) I guess you could devise some sort of tubular or boxed cross member to replace it an still have rigidity with an additional weight savings...

What spring rate did you go with?

I will probably remove the crossmember...I am not too concerned about flexing since there is another crossmember right behind it.

I went with 1000lb springs because I wanted very little front end movement for launching and also the range of travel is not very much. I went with a shorter spring than recommended so I could more easily select the ride height I wanted.

I will make a thread later this week when I get it installed.

torsion bar cross member provides no frame support whatsoever. throw it in the trash. From what I am told, the coil overs I did have 20K and counting. No shock tower failures..

intriguing thread

quick question..
Would it not be beneficial to use a progressive rate spring in a coil over setup? I noticed you guys are all talking about fixed rate springs. I was under the impression that the main disadvantage of a torsion setup was the lack of progressive rate springs
