Default Custom rim backspace???

Ok. I am going to have a set of Bogart rims made for my truck to use when i go to the track. But I need some help when picking out a back space. I am running 28x11.5 M/T et streets. The rims are going to be 16's. What offset do you guys think will work the best????? thanks

It depends on the width of the rim. Do you care if the rim hangs outside the wheel well? You cant determine backspacing unless you have the rim width.

If possible, I would go with a 10" wide rim and 6.25-6.5 inches of backspacing to prevent the wheel from hanging out past the wheel well.

Those Bogart wheels are LIGHT...I just helped a buddy put 15x10s on his '01 Lightning last weekend. We had to grind the hell out of the rear calipers, though. Even with the slicks mounted I couldn't believe how light they were.

You might have to go as much as 6.75" of backspacing...I have a friend who ran 22x10" Boyds on his bodydropped Silverado and they rubbed the fenders. I believe that he was running 6.5" b/s, and they only rubbed when the truck was all the way down.

Creederado did some measuring when he put the 18" DR's on the back of his...maybe he can chime in.

For the rear;
18x9.5 with a 6" back space will sit them flush. You could go up to 7" before coming close to the leaf spring.

I ran 16x8 rims with the 28 11.5 x 16, ET Streets.
I attached a picture of the 16x8 with the et streets. I'm almost sure they were 5.5" backspace.That set up was sold to RED2K.
I also sold my original 16x9.5 rims to WHITT.I believe both had a 5.5 -6" backspace.The only thing you have to watch is the brake caliper bolt in the rear of the caliper. The farther you go in with the wheel the closer you might hit it.

That would work, but the rim may hang outside the wheelwell. 6.5" of backspacing would leave 4" of rim to the outside of the mounting surface. I think the maximum orward offset we can have without the rim sticking out is 3.5". You may have to go with a 7" backspacing if you want to prevent the wheel sticking out.

MT suggested 8" rim for there 11.50-16, To allow the sidewall to flex.At least thats what the chart said.
If you really want 10.5 for possibly bigger tires someday I would agree with
j's01silverado and that they would stick out about an 1".(6.5BS)

Throw a square on the mounting surface of the rotor and measure back to the caliper bolt, that was my only concern with more that 6" back space on a 16" rim. Depending on the design the inside of the rim might rub on it.

If you can wait I can throw my wheel tool on my truck to see what it would look like.
