I have an 05 tahoe 5.3 Im not sure what auto trans it is but i was guessing the 4l60E? How do these hold up to stock gearing with 24s?

What gear should i run with the 24's to give it alittle help and maybe give it some pep in low end?

 

hard 4/2 kickdown is a 4l60e killer! 24's are pretty heavy but you might be fine if you dont drive it hard. what is your rear end gear ? regearing it to make up for the big 24's might help you out.

 

Im not sure of the stock gearing yet.... I do drive kinda hard so I will end up doing front and rear gears.... hopefully something i can do to the trans to help save its life lol

 

3.42 comes stock in the 05 tahoe.

4.10 is what i'm looking to put in my truck.

 

haha so many of my buddies have had to tranny these trucks... Im trying to keep from it and I want the gears to help scoot this big thing around 4.10s it is!

 

Might want to throw the corvette servos in there, only $15 or so and an easy install. Do a search on here, I know there are a few threads on them. You can pick them up on ebay. Next step would be a big trans cooler, like a tru cool 40k, around $110.
