5.3 in a 2007 Tahoe makes a metallic chattering? Help
I just bought a 2007 Tahoe LT as a second vehicle (for hauling guns/targets to the gun range) and at idle while in park, neutral or any gear there seems to be A rattle or jackhammer sound coming from the front of the motor. Sounds like an accessory pulley... Truck has 141k on the clock
Here is a video...
Thoughts?
ALSO, since it's new to me and has 141k is there any Maitenence I should take it in for?

Remove the belt and start spinning pulleys.
OR grab huge screw driver or pry bar and start poking around and seeing/hearing what is making noise. Place the screw driver/pry bar to your ear and listen like a doctor does on your heart, if one pulley or accessory is alot louder than the others, you have likely found out what is making the noise.
As for other maintenance stuff, if you don't know what has ever been done you'll have to start from scratch.
Spend the 200 bucks on the general stuff. Plugs/wires, clean the MAF sensor, t-case fluid, front and rear diff fluids, coolant flush if you think it needs it.
