Default video of walbro 450 in a STOCK returnless bucket

So I have never seen this first hand and wanted to give it a go. I was told it would overpower the stock fuel pressure regulator, but I still wanted to try it for myself. I thought the video could be a great resource for those looking to do the same in the future.

As you can see my pressure is a little high. It's at 66-67 or so. I have heard from others who have done this that their fuel pressure does the same thing, but it hasnt given way and they have had it set up like that for a little while now.

I pulled that bucket out and popped the 255 back in there. I will be adding a boost referenced FPR and doing it right in the next few months.

where you able to just drop the 450 directly in, exactly like factory?? I have been trying to find some stuff on it but even the post with the avalanche, that guy had to do all sorts of little stuff.

Yea it just dropped right in. As you can see though, fuel pressure is too high.

ok thanks for the info. how high is too high for stock regulator? and is there any way to get an upgraded regulator to swap for stock, or do you have to get new rails? sorry so many questions. new to the performance side of these trucks. are stock fuel lines fine for this pump also? im building an s480 setup on mine right now. 80lbs siemens deka and this 450 pump

You're going to need to go return style with an under hood regulator. I'm not sure anyone makes an in tank regulator upgrade unfortunately...

Rescale the IFR table and all is fine...Not the ideal solution, but it will work just fine.

Only problem is that 67psi will drop to 58-59 just by barely touching the throttle so the IFR slope will not be linear by any means.

ok. i guess im confused. your saying you cant just get different rails and attach your regulator to the rails? you have to go to return style for a regulator to work on the rails?

all ready talking over my head. i have no idea how to tune. ive been studying up on it a little but dont know near enough. IFR= something fuel ratio? basically can a good tuner make it work safely? and will it be a limiting factor? im going turbo, and 91 octane plus meth.
