Random, not sure if u mean hotrod04 or me? I live in MI, not TX. I still need quick heater/ warmup in cold weather. I, myself, might try a 170*. As my truck stands, w/ present stock t-stat, couldn't some hp gains be made just by using HPT to change when fans go on/ off?

And no you won't gain anything by changing your fan settings. If you have them tuned right(or at least like everyone else), they should almost never come on. I live in Texas and the only time i've seen my fans come on is when the a/c is on.

I was speaking to anyone interested in a 180* t-stat. You're just wasting your money. Why spend $30+ to make your engine run at 190* instead of 197*. It doesn't matter where you live, a 160* stat will not make your truck run at 160* and a 180* will not make your truck run a 180*.

Before I go changin settings or swappin t-stats, I'll do e-fans.

I understand that dude, but the stock t-stat is considered a 187* thermostat. Why not get the 160* one. It will make your truck run about 180* no matter what climate you are in.
