On3 Performance single turbo kit fuel economy, drivability, and emissions

The kit was designed to use speed density and cut out the MAF all together but I kept it. all I did was put it right in front of the intake manifold. I was skeptical with it being right there but it actually worked very well there from what my tuner told me. The tuner suggested a 2bar speed density tune also but until I go crazy big on horse I'm just sticking with how the truck was made. That way you don't have to cut and splice in a different IAT sensor etc. I'm not sure which program he uses. But I have to stop by after work today to adjust my shifts a little firmer so I'll ask him then. And the better mpgs were cruising at 75ish. If I'm romping on it gas mileage is about the same as if your romping on a regular NA engine so I'm happy with it. I drive to and from Colorado a lot and this extra bit on the highway will save me a ton of cash along the way

Damn that's a pretty big increase in mileage. I think I'm just going to turbo my truck and roll the dice. If the mileage doesn't increase so what. If it does increase that will just be icing on the cake. I've got to do a little more research on what kit I want to go with. Right now I'm thinking using the KB racing hot side and Denmah cold side kit. Did you keep your MAF sensor in your kit? And did you have it tuned with hp tuners?

From everything I saw you basically just find a 2bar gm map sensor. I called around to the dealerships and they all wanted 102 bucks for them. Oreillys and autozone sold them for right around 80 for the acdelco (which are the gm ones). And everything I read was to use them because they are much more reliable than the cheap ones. And for IAT I don't know what sensor to use. I'm assuming any sensor that can be sliced into the MAF's two wires would work. And I did put the electric fans on it. My buddy in Colorado owns a salvage yard and I picked up a set out of an 05 and the wiring harness and plugged them into my PCM. Only thing was I had to order the right PCM pins and the tuner had to turn them on. Oh and the radiators are bigger on the electric fan trucks so I had to take my die grinder and cut some plastic off the fan shroud to make it fit around my radiator hoses. But it worked well and they work automatically how they are supposed to. I'm happy with them
