I’m sure out of business or not, Wheel to Wheel did know what the hell they were doing and it wouldn’t hurt a thing to do. I wouldn’t go out and start snatching heads to do it, but if you already had them off it may not be a bad idea. I still would use new lifter buckets to perform the modification to, because as I said before due to age and heat, the old plastic may have the tendency to crack when drilling them and they do loose their tension on the lifters with age, so a fresh set may help you down the line if you decide to swap cams again.

Yea, my gains were great, but I'm still slow lol. I bet that if you get it tuned right you'll be very happy with the results

*EDIT* There's some pics in this thread of the drilled lifter retainers, post #16: https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...er-oiling.html

and this thread from our own good ol' PT.net, straight from the book... (this is the thread that I was looking for...I actually found it on google): https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=452295
Now that name I've heard of.

Ya, he does say a lot of great info. I hope I can remember it all.

On a side note, I woke up today & outta the blue, decided to look thru my lil box from SD. Why? Cause I didn't remember a LS2 timing chainm being in there when I opened the box a week ago. I checked & there isn't.

Now I gotta call em this wk. & hope they don't think I scammed it. But I opened in front of my boss, so that's 2 sets of eyes that say it's not there. I don't want any drama, just my chain. Glad I looked before I got ready to do the cam.

Well that just sux, but it does happen and the fellows at SDPC are just as much enthusiasts as anyone, so I’m sure they will get you fixed up. And like you said, it’s a good thing you decided to reopen the box for a peak one more time before you actually did dive into your cam swap. Hopefully you won't have to wait on the chain, as we have all been hearing the LS2 chains have been hard to come by and could have been the reason it wasn’t in your package, but even then it should have been listed as backordered if that was the case.

They're from TX, so you know that gotta be some good guys.

That's exactly the part that scares me, how hard those LS2 chains are to come by. Which is wierd cause they made the LS2's for how long & how many yrs ago. I figure in that time (~5 yrs) they should have some. Must be all the enthusiasts doin upgrades.

And ya, the paperwork says 1 ordered, 1shipped. I looked for somethin that said B/O, & there was nothing. And he also never mentioned being BO'd, altho I'd heard it here.

Ya, I called SD & didn't even have to talk to same salesman. He just said, according to paperwork, it was shipped, altho u never got it? Correct.
I thought maybe cause it was the last line on my order, so perhaps it was overlooked.

He said, we'll get that right out. I had it in 3 days. It's so nice to not have any drama & people are actually easy to deal with. A class act!

Now, I just need to decide on what HX I'm goin w/., order that, & borrow / get a crank pin kit.

I ordered a few more items today. They weren't really needed. Well, actually 1 part was more for insurance. I also felt "the need" to add to my order.

I was checkin out Lonnie's stuff. He's got some trick stuff for fueling issues, quality but it's $. Also, looked out Racetronix. I couldn't find their fuel pump wiring upgrade on Racetronix site, but found it on Lonnie's. Racetronix offered a bunch of pump styles, but maybe cause I have a 04 style fuel system, that creates an issue. Yet Lonnie's, IIRC, uses Racetronix wiring kit?

Also checked out the wiring upgrade that sureshot used, cause I wanna do somethin after reading his thread.

https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=464794

I could be wrong but Lonnie's looks to be more professional lookin, so that may mean a better product. Yes, it's a tad more as 1Bear said. It also looks to be assembled rather than u put the wiring kit together. Perhaps that cost is "built" in too.

I know I can't do my cam for a few weeks, so I'm tryin to scrounge up these last few pcs. I still wanna dyno to see where the stall took me. I'll get the wiring kit upgrade next week I think. I still gotta get my hands on a crank pin kit.

Not yet, I've been workin quite a bit & doin a lot of stuff around home. Delays & other things 1st, blower install after. It's pretty pretty hot here too, plus humid. Maybe not Texas style, but I can't tolerate this weather, plus it's complicated on where I install my cam & stuf since i don't have my own garage. How I wish I had my own garage (home). There have been so many times where I just wish I could go out into a garage ( & therefore house) of my own & do stuff on my truck. Anything. But that won't be for a while. I wanna do my cam & all it's related stuff, the Maggie, rear end / driveshaft upgrades, then start savin for a home. I may just do big brakes, & a wheel / tire improvement then my truck should mostly be done. All that will be done at that point will be body/ paint/ & maybe interior work. Some nice supportive seats so when I fly round corners would be sweet.

I just remembered I have to go get some items for my gauges. It won't be somethin that is common.

I've thought about doin the gauge mounting & how/ where I'll mount em all, but now can scrape the coin together to do it the way I want. I guess that overtime work will come in handy to pay for things.

I had to do that extra work to pay for goodies before I could move forward on this project, yet still stay ahead of bills.

For the next issue you're going to have to deal with:

Pulley size - Belt Size - Goodyear# - Gates#
2.75" Pulley = 111.0 " Belt - P/N=4061110 - P/N=K061110
2.8" Pulley = 111.0 " Belt - P/N=4061110 - P/N=K061110
2.9" Pulley = 111.5 " Belt - P/N=4061115 - P/N=K061115
3.0" Pulley = 111.5 " Belt - P/N=4061115 - P/N=K061115
3.1" Pulley = 112.0 " Belt - P/N=4061120 - P/N=K061120
3.3" Pulley = 112.0 " Belt - P/N = 4061120 - P/N=K061120
