boost creep
#51
Yea marty at turbosmart is saying the gates are to small so he's sending me some 50mm ones that are going to be released at sema that are the same cap size as the 45 and stuff. So I'll be posting pics of the set up

If anyone was wondering about my truck, I never moved the reference line to the intake as the eboost2 instructions said boost only. I installed the eboost2 and used the two port, single solenoid, single turbo connection method (2). I was getting about 7 PSI of boost before the eboost2 was hooked up, and now I am holding pretty steady at 16 PSI. I might put a weaker spring in it as I wanted to leave around 12 PSI, and ramp the boost up.

You simply are not venting enough exhaust gas to regulate the boost down to 3psi in higher rpms. That is why you get similar boost at high rpms with the 7psi spring. If you really need to run just 3psi then you either need a bigger gate or different manifold design.

Well I mean I can't really make a more effecient manifold design. But I am going to a bigger gate. Waiting for turbosmart to have it built will be using a new designed gate that will be released to the public at sema

you can get weaker springs at the hardware store. I had really good luck putting in just enough spring to close the gate after pushing the valve by hand, then relying on my ams1000 to add boost from there. i could run zero with the ams off or as high as I wanted from there. i put the activation on a wot switch so it didnt cycle forever and run my compressor constantly
