Default duramax injector problem

both of my uncles trucks were found to have diesel in the oil. shop says its the injectors. i searched online and found that this is a common problem. anyone else experience this? they were quoted 5k per truck to fix. seemed a lot to me until i looked up the injectors and saw how much they cost. does 5 grand seem a fair price? thanks

So both are LB7's which unfortunatley are known for hit or miss injectors, they are great engines though.

I would check with some diesel performance shops such as merchant automotive, danville performance, socal diesel, McRat racing, to see if they can get you a better deal on injectors, labor at the dealer though is gonna be a killer.

The 04 depends. If it is an early 04 then yes it is an LB7. If it is late 04 it is an LLY.
