Default Why am I pulling timing?

Total newb question, but I just swapped in a 4L80, nothing else was supposed to be changed in the tune other than the 80 segment. But now I can't even power brake my truck with a TVS on a LQ9 with a 3.0" pulley. No problems doing it before the swap at all, traction was a big problem. The power is there because if I go WOT from a dead stop, according to my PLX OBDII gauge, it will pull timing to -7 then start to ramp back up to 16-18 deg. The truck boggs then comes alive and lights the tires up once I'm at about 15mph or so. I would think it's in the tune somehow, but I don't know. I'm gonna pull some HPT logs and send them to my tuner, but was hoping to get some insight so that I have some input when we talk. Thanks

Scott

hard to say without seeing any logs or the tune file.
Who is your tuner?

PM sent Charlie, thanks. Any guesses as to what might be going on off the top of your head?

I'd say abuse mode is active in the 80e tune. Torque management.

That was my thoughts as well, even though I requested 100% removal of all TM and Abuse Mode. We shall soon see though.

tiny stuff like this is what forced me to buy my own tuning software. Things you could fix in 2 seconds turn into a huge hassle.

I'm inches from buying my own software, should have done it long ago. But, the tune I have now is locked, which means I would have to pay someone to get me in the ballpark again so that I could start tweaking. No way I would tackle tuning my truck from scratch when I have zero tuning experience. Blown with a 4L80 swap, I would image the learning curve would be pretty steep for a newb.
