Default Tahoe heated seat not working

So here is the deal. The 03 Tahoe passenger heated seat works great. When you turn on the drive seat it shows that it is on for a second and then turns off. Weird thing is that if the passenger heated seat is on it will kick that one off too.

Anybody have the same problem??? The car runs great but has had electrical demons through out the life of the vehicle. It was bought new in 03.

On another problem with the car, when the car is running, there is a sounds like a metal ball popping or rolling around. People say it sounds like a frog. HAHA. Its consistent, always the same loudness (which isnt that loud), same frequency and never gets faster or slower. It sounds like its coming from the dash or steering area inside. I know thats kinda vague but i thought that i would ask.

My 03 Yukon did that, and my 04 Silvy is starting too. It almost seems like it trips a breaker of something and shuts them both off. Interested to hear a solution. It's cold, I'm skinny, and I need heated seats, lol.

Heated element in the seat is broken, its almost always the bottom element that goes bad.

If the popping noise sounds like its coming from the lower dash in front of the seat replace the mode actuator and cam. Beau can sell you both of the parts...

As mentioned its common for the element's to go out or burn up. In fact its so common that you can get them through any local parts store that sells Dorman products.

They burn up like that!!! Im assuming that you have to uncover your seat. Is the heater element that hard to replace?

YESSS that sound is coming from lower dash. What exactly is the mode actuator and cam and where can i buy it because its annoying when you dont turn the music up. haha

Mode actuator and cam is a dealer part, its not expensive. The seat bottom does need to be taken apart, its time consuming but not a hard job.

Thanks guys for the help. I have already done the other electrical fixes to the car. Almost all the stepper motors in the gauges, and the AC relay on the passenger side.
