Default LS3 525 crate engine swap. Trans Tuning Help!

okay so i just took my truck into Walls Rod and Custom to get a LS3 525hp Gm crate motor installed with a 4" exhaust, k and N filter and dyno tuned. yes it has a nasty cam, it sounds like it makes power, but i dont get it to the ground. The truck was Dynoed and made 504 rwhp and 454 ft lbs of torq. these numbers were impressive to me but do not show on the street. The truck is a 2008 nnbs Crew cab short box. i have a 6" lift on it with 35s. 4.10 gears. the truck is barely faster then when i had the stock 6.0 in it with a blackbear tune. exhaust and intake. The guy that installed the motor also did a FULLY built 4l70e with 300m billet input and output shafts. When he tuned the trans file he said he left 100% torq management in it. Would that infact turn my trans into a major power governor or just take away power while the trans performs its shifts? I am going in to install 5.13 gears, hopefully that will help with the laggy turd like power i am recieving in this truck... i spent about 22000 on the build and am not impressed with the performance. any input would be greatly appreciated to why this truck isnt showing this 500 Rwhp on the asphalt.
Thanks

Yikes. 22k is quite...... Quite alot for only 500rwhp.

But to start off the 35s and 4.10s plus you didnt mention a stall. And add in 100% torque management. I imagine the 500 that it made on the dyno prolly feels like 300 you made on the 6.0 with no TM.
Lower gears or shorter/lighter tires plus a no TM tune should wake it up. But dont expect that trans to live long.

What made you go this route?

Yes, i know. but the reason i went this way was because i had recently hit a deer, drove home on the motor about 40 miles without antifreeze... i had to... i had no phone, was in the middle of nowhere and was kind of stuck. it sucked. so after getting it back i felt that the best thing to do was buy a new motor, one with a little more jam, and then build the trans to its par. yes it was expensive but i look at it now as a new motor and trans. im not sure how high of a stall the tq converter is, but it seems low, just a bit higher then the stock. How much easier on the trans will it be when i throw the 5.13s in? would i be able to take some torq management out of this thing without blowing the trans, or possibly put a small shot (75 hp) of nitrous that i already have installed in the truck?

nfw a 500 dyno HP runs like stock 6.0, but as stated- if the TM is set to only allow the engine to run 50% of the power the engine is making- its not gonna run right.

BUT - I don't see how it could dyno 500 and run like *** on the street... unless the dyno is unloaded and the load of the truck actually running is setting it into TM power reduction.

Ive seen this on trucks that Ive tuned for dry flat dirt- then they are takin to Dune sand and the TM kicks in- Needs complete removing so the engine runs the full amount of timing. GL- get the file. post it up.

The 525 hp rating on the ls3 was rated at the crank. I don't see how it put down 504 at the wheels.

525 with stock manifolds...gm apparently under rates its motors, and i have a full 4" exhaust with 1 3/4" headers. i have the dyno sheets to prove it. I guess we will see. I am retuning the trans, putting the 5.13s in this week, and hopefully getting it onto the dyno again to massage out the problems. i just hope my tranny holds up with this much power. Its built right to the nuts with everything possible. but still no 80e i guess.

what does your truck look like? I live in winnipeg and used to hang out with Brian ALOT. we would go to car craft every year, I was the only person stupid enough to get in his 7 second twin turbo camaro to help with the tuning. lol
he knows what he is doing with tuning forsure, really knows his LS motors
get a stall, lose some torque managment and get some gears and it will feel like a completely different truck.
sucks we got this snow I would have loved to have a little run with you

well the way it sits i'd definitely be embarrassed to race. A hemi gave me a run for my money the other night... Which is SAD. but like i said, its going back to brian this week as soon as the gears come in and he is doing the install along with some more trans tuning. I definitely trust the guy, he seems to know his stuff and I definitely dont feel like he is jerking me around. he is giving me honest answers and helping me out. I can understand why he would put so much TM in his tune with the big tires and that much hp with a high gearing, but i am curious to know if the gears will make that trans live longer or not... My truck is a 08 Silverado CCSB you prob have seen it around. its Pewter in colour (sorta silver with a hint of brown) and is lifted up on 35s, It has a Live Ammo decal on the rear window (my freestyle motocross and snocross group)... you cant miss it. id definitely like to get together though and check out your truck. what do you have for a trans in it? Did you ever get it Dynoed?
