Default Getting code P1518

Ok I finally got to scan my truck and I am getting code p1518.. I have searched the internet and from what ive read people able to clear it and everything is fine.. I have been unsuccesfull at clearing this code.. My scanner says function successfull, but when I crank it up, it still does the same thing.. I have contacted Allen, but was just seeing if you guys had any idea..

This code only happens when I replace my 99 PCM with the 02 PCM that I just got.. You guys think it is maybe a bad pcm??

The throttle actuator control (TAC) module and the powertrain control module (PCM) communicate via a dedicated serial data circuit. This serial data circuit is separate from any other serial data circuit on the vehicle. Accurate transmitting and receiving of serial data requires not only good circuit integrity but also adequate system voltage. This diagnostic test monitors the accuracy of the serial data transmitted between the TAC module and the PCM. If the PCM detects a loss of data or invalid data, this DTC sets.

well than... that sounds like almost an electrical problem. Check all pcm wires leading to the tb maybe?

the reason why most ppl say that reset it and it'll be fine is because its similar to getting an error message on your reg. home computer... sometimes after you reset it, it'll go away. So If its not going away than.... there might be a physical problem.

just my .02... i dont tune anything for a living, lol so maybe someone else will tune in. Good luck.

The thing is.. it goes away when i put my 99 computer back in... If it was a legit problem, wouldnt it set a ses code on that PCM as well??

umm... This should not even be an option 99-02. I wonder if you got an 03 PCM?
