Default 6.0 swap

going from a 2004 4.8 to a 2004 6.0 and the question is, do I reuse the sensors off the 4.8 or will the 6.0's all plug in the same way or are they the same sensors? like the cam and crank and knock sensors or the throttle body assembly both engines are drive by wire.

Should all be the same. Although, definitely look for any visual differences and if found, I would use the sensor from the 4.8

Are all your sensors good from the 4.8? If so, I would use them since the are known to be operational. Either way you should be fine.

Thats what I was thinking myself, I was hoping that someone else that had done the swap would have chimed in and said something, all the sensors on the 4.8 are good, the ones on the 6.0......not so much.....the cam sensor was cracked, the oil pick lvl was broke, the knock sensors were junk,so I will just swap over all the 4.8's,makes sense also cause I'm gonna re flash my ECM too.

i just got done with my swap
and i can tell you if you have known good sensors from either
engine they will work
the crank sensor is the one to try to reuse as it is already
with the computer
if you change the crank sensor you will have to do a crank relearn

everything on my swap went smooth

i got the p0300 code
unplug the battery and reset it and it hasnt come on again, yet
6.0 lq9
216/220 cam
3200 stall
pacesetter headers
b&m super tranny cooler

now it is tougher to find a tuner than i thought it would be, to do a remote tune

If you move the sensor to another motor, You should do a crank relearn anyway. That's most likely why you got a P0300 random misfire code.

well if you wouldve read the entire note
the p0300 was able to reset
and it being a random misfire is from the cam i would think

and if it starts the first time i hooked up the coil packs why in the world would i do
a crank relearn?
same ecm
same crank sensor
and the same 24 tooth reluctor wheel
do they make different 24 tooth reluctor wheels?

Every sensor, every crank wheel will give a slight difference in signal. The point of the crank Relearn is to sync the two up so the computer can compensate for any viriations. That way you don't get a P0300 random misfire.
