Default What would be a cool rig to swap a 5.3 L into?

I'm going to be swapping a 6.0L into my 2000 Silverado. I'll be upgrading to a 4L80E and NP149. It just occurred to me, I'll have a complete drivetrain. I was originally considering selling it to help recoup the cost of my build up. Now I'm thinking it would be fun to swap into an older off-road rig.

I used to have a solid axle 4runner that was pretty fun off-road. I ended up selling it to fund my turbo build up.

I am sort of debating building a tube buggy off-road style rig. Like maybe a 70s or 80s K5 Blazer. Rip the body off, get some 1 ton axles and build a crawler. Something that I could enjoy at the dunes as well.

Then I thought, what about a scout? Or a FJ40 Land Cruiser?

I am just spit balling here, what do you guys think?

Ohh, what about an FJ55? That could be totally cool.

That would be wild, but impossible.

A ******* truck. For me they are the most bad *** "trucks" ever. If you can't find one of them the next would be a jeep CJ-8 scrambler! My second favorite ride ever.

Not off-road, but how bout a front end engine swap on something like this? I've thought about it. Hot Rod magazine did it a while back.

That's pretty cool. The reason I want a 4wd is for the dunes and hills. I live in Oregon and miss being able to go up in the sticks. I've got a 1970 Camaro, so I've kind of all ready have my muscle car.
