Default I'm wanting a sporty car under $10,000

Getting tired of driving the honda, and don't see the truck getting fixed anytime soon. I really want to get into something pretty quick, that will be a good reliable car. I want something with a manual transmission, preferably a V8, but I could go for a nice 6 cyl as long as it's got some power. Budget is really around $10,000, but less is better.

Some obvious options I've been considering are Camaros, T/As, and Mustangs, but I know there have to be other options out there as well that I'm not thinking of. Any suggestions?

Meh my truck is slow. I'd much rather have a nice car that throw away 10k on a truck that's worth 5-6k in good condition.

350Z's, S2000's? I'd even drive a CTS (not exactly sporty, but they're around here in your budget). I don't know too much about any of those, just suggestions. I see too many Mustang's and Camaro's running around to be fond of them, unless I catch one that really stands out and it's hard to find STI's or Evo's under 10K.

My experience has been that 98-02 F-Bodies are pieces of ****. I love the engine/transmission combo but the car falls apart around the drivetrain.

I've heard that, yet I've heard the exact opposite from others. I've heard plenty of F-body owners that haven't had any problems with their cars. That's the only thing that's really keeping me from making them my choice. I'm not a huge fan of Ford, but I do love the way those Mustangs sound.

I love GM stuff but the interiors on F-bodys just don't seem to hold up IMO. If I wanted a stang I'd get a '99-'04 they have decent power and performance parts are finally cheap. You would never make world beating power but mild performance and sound are cheap to get. But hey this is just my .02 get whatever you want don't let our opinions sway you, your the one paying the money

Why not fix your truck, and sell both to increase your price range? If you could go a few grand higher you could get a nice ctsv.

Truck is paid off, and my parents bought it for me when I was 16. It's not really mine to sell, and I'm sure they'd rather keep it around the house when they need a truck. I'll fix the trans sooner or later so it's driveable, but I'm done with modding/racing it.

I'm wanting to try and get between 2 and 3 thousand for the Honda, and save about $2000 for a down payment so they payments would be low. So $10,000 is really about the max I'd be comfortable spending at this point.
