Boatlift, 9/11 2001
I ran across this a couple days ago. I'd never heard anything about this. It's pretty amazing and a good story. Just thought I'd share.

<< Native NY'er here and this pics still debilitate me. I've been in an out of those towers numerous times..
My Uncle, who was working on Wall St. that day, just made it out to the Staten Island Ferry by the time the 2nd plane hit Tower One. My Aunt and Cousin, who are his family, were in route to Tower Two, and communication was lost, amongst other things. When my Cousin, who was driving my Aunt cleared the city and hour later, contact was made, and all three were safe.
God bless those we lost on this tragic day.
