Default How hard would this be- truck awd

So I have a ecsb 99 Sierra- I bought a 2001 Denali XL yesterday for cheap.

I have traction issues in the 99 and I think I **** the trans out today. So I'm thinking crazy - I have a lq9 in my shop put a 80e behind it and convert my truck to awd- using the Denali parts

Bad idea? Why is that? Awd Sierra

How much of a difference? Bolt holes/stabilizers ? Mounting things? Metal fab work no biggie

The front is completely different as in you would have to graph the front frame section on.

2X4 and 4x4 frames are complete different up front.

2x4 uses a coil spring in a bucket with stamped lower arm and rack and pinion.

4x4 Uses torsion bars so it doesn't need that space for the coil. It also uses a cast steel lower arm and a steering box with drag link set up.

true about the steering and suspension, I was aware of that I was thinking more issues maybe holding the diff up front and cross members

the denali is whole and driveable- would it be easy to swap over with fab skills

MORTIZ did just that with a reg cab on a Denali frame. But I think even he ditched that and went with a 4X4 REG truck.

I think he had to move 1 or 2 mounts. I don't remember. Here is his build thread.
