Default Max MPH in 4x4

Is there a max MPH you should be driving at with 4x4 engaged. I know AWD have different suspension geometery to handle high speed with all 4 tires loaded, but what about 4x4 on dry pavemnt in a straight line, no turns.

Kind of like dragging in 4wd, but at what is the max speed the front axle can handle?

I've ran my truck to just over 100 mph in 4x4 at the track before without any problems. If it's autotrack 4x4 (push button), everything is always turning anyway, there just not coupled.

that's pretty damn fast for 2wd mode, on any surface. I wouldnt go much faster than 40 mph. If its lifted forget it, you role that SOB if your not carefull. Unless you have geo tracker, but we dont talk much about that stuff on here as of late.

Ever since the got the Radix installed i've been messing around with the "thrill factor". It was raining the other day and i gunned it and spun the rear tires, so i put it in 4x4 and gunned it again and took off but at around 85MPH-ish i started to hear a funny sound coming from the front axle. I didn't know if this was normal at high speeds or if i was hearing my 4.56s being noisy or what.

I've had my truck to 70-75 in 4wd a few times, but on ice if that makes a difference. Most of the time, it's in auto 4 at those speeds though.

I've run mine as high as 85-90 on the highway in 4x4. It's definitely noisier with it engaged, but I've had no issues.

Yeah as long as you're not turning I see no problem with any speed in 4wd....like kbracing said, everything is turning anyway, it's just not locked together.
