Default Base Jumps...

Has anyone ever done them off the roof of a home?

Wasn't planning on EVER doing this, but... I found a leak in my fireplace a couple of hours ago, so me acting like "Mr. Action Jackson", I grabbed the 14' extension ladder, got up to the top of the house, started to move towards the chimney, and my slip-resistent boot slips. I start doing an upright slide (fast), and figured if I fell on my ***, I'd slow down before getting to the end. Well, that slowed me down a bit, but I was then doing a slow baseball slide. Didn't wanna lock my knees, so I had my legs bent slightly in mid-air, landed, and rolled over back to my feet. Stood up, shook off the grass, and walked it off. Now, my right calf muscle is stiff as ****.

Lesson learned, buy a 34' extension ladder, and don't walk on wet shingles.

This brings back memories, i was putting a tin roof on my parents garage a few years ago and when my foot slipped, my knees were covered in sweat so i did a slow-motion slide about 10 feet and fell off the edge lol

I'm sure Ron said that he was injured so the wife would wait on him hand and foot. "Sweatie can you get me a bud light I'm in pain!"

Seriously I had visions when I read your post of exactly how that went down. Good to hear your alright. Vince

Didn't go inside... shook it off, and scaled the roof again. Was a little more cautious this time & took a slightly different route. First attempt, I climbed up the opposite side of the house, which required me to walk to the top, and walk down to the chimney. Second attempt, I put that ladder right next to the chimney to lessen the chance of top-side slippage. I will say that during the event, it was like watching a scene in an action flick. Glad I'm not one to panic!

Yea... Just muscle soreness from tensing up for the fall. Right leg/foot was planted first. With 200lbs putting force on my right side, I now have a 6 inch hole in the ground (grass area). The more I walk around, the better I feel. Been stretching like crazy this morning.

Wife (or no one) didn't see me slide off. She knew something happened though. She tried to force me to take Ibuprofen (500mg), but I had just taken one 5 minutes prior. I'll be back to normal before the weekend. I don't see how those guys from Jackass can do **** like that (and worse) intentionally.

Would certainly have been a more interesting fall had I drank beer.
