Default Converting AWD SS to RWD.

Before anyone gets angry with me. I have been looking for a 05-up 2wd SS for awhile now. But then I got a deal to trade my current daily driver and some cash for a 03 SS w/61k miles. The deal was to good to pass up on. Even though I had been strictly looking for a 2wd SS. I had been looking into the T-56 swap which I had planned to do in my old truck a Rengecy RST, but got rid of it to quick. Also I have the T56 and a clutch setup already so the rest of the needed parts should be fairly cheap. But I wanted to check out my options anyway. I am also considering running a 4L80. I can get one from a local junkyard for $700. As for converting my SS to 2wd. Here is what I would assume I would need to do. I couldnt find anyone else that had done the conversion. Besides one guy that did it becuase his turbo setup would overrun the AWD and I couldnt find any real info.

New trans either 4L80/T-56(+all item needed to swap them in)
2wd EC driveshaft(it would be shorter than the awd unit correct)
What spindle would be used, front wheel abs without axles(do the front axles have a abs reluctor wheel)
reprogram ecu

Mostly I would just like to know all that would be needed to convert to RWD if I ran a RWD 4L trans. I can figure out the rest if I end up going with the T-56. There are plenty of write ups on 2wd 4L to T-56 conversions.

For spindles I could possibly run ones from a VHO to keep the torsion bar suspension.

I think the spindles are the same. You may just need a different hubs for 2wd.

You will need a new 2WD transmission, new driveshaft, and 2WD hubs and remove all 4wd related stuff. Might need to flash PCM/BCM so there are no lights on the dash after the swap.
