hate to bump this post ,but since its along the same lines. would it be any harder to take a 2wd rcsb and make it an awd?

You need to get a 4WD transmission and the AWD transfer case and proper driveshafts along with the SS front axle since it is specific for the AWD transfer case.

I thought that you could use the same trans but needed the 2wd tailshaft housing

I believe the output shaft is quite a bit longer on the 2WD trans.

Unfortunately, the frame on a 2WD truck doesn't have the mounts for the front differential. I'm sure with some fabrication, you could make the front differential go into a 2WD vehicle, but its not going to be a direct bolt in upgrade. Going from AWD (or 4WD) would work fine and the mounts would just be unused.
