I haven't tried as yet, but I'll take a peek tomorrow. I kind of thought the older ones were a pain in the butt, so we may have differing thoughts.

I know this wont be the same for a suburban, but this is for the trucks, I assume most of the bolts should be in the same area. http://www.gmfullsize.com/forum/showthread.php?t=93769

Its been a while since I've pulled mine. There is a hidden screw behind a small 1"x4" cover panel, inside the armrest. Pry out the cover panel and you'll see the screw, I think its a 10mm. You'll have to remove the lock **** with a small screwdriver or pick, there's a lock tab you have to undo. Be careful its easy to break. Pull the mirror cover, it makes it easier, but you might not have to. Then at the bottom of the panel start pulling away from the door. You have to pull pretty hard. Theres about six or seven if I recall. Good luck. The handles are really easy to change out once you get the panel off.
