Yes tape over the bare conductor or use heat shrink. I did not, but I am crazy....

The aftermarket kits manually turn on the high beams, that's why they need a 30 amp relay. The method that I posted uses the BCM to turn the stock relays, it just bypasses the requirement to turn off the lows when your turn on the high beams.

The method there is an alternative to mine, I am sure it will work, I just like mine cause its simple. The originator of that can post If he would like.

Makes sense. I figured it was something like that. I'll be doing this mod soon, that's for sure.

I did it the other day. Only took a few minutes. I had to figure out which end of the yellow wire to ground after I cut it but, then it was simple.

(the one coming off the light plug needs grounded so cut the yellow wire as far back into the grill as you can reach.)

I'ma try this as soon as I get a chance. My question is this.
My truck didn't come with factory Fogs, If i install some, should i wire them into the box or splice them into the d/ls and just diode the d/ls to stay on with the lows and lows with highs?

I installed OEM aftermarket foglights on my truck. As long as you used the gm harness, your truck is already wired for them up until the fuse block in the engine compartment. Just wire it in as stated at the beginning of the post and you will be good to go.
