Default 06 Silverado hood fitment gap

Anybody else have a problem like this? My passenger side fits good but my driver side has a gap. I've tried to adjust it in every possible way and cant get it to align right on the driver side. I notice the same thing on stock 06+ trucks too sometimes. Any suggestions? It bugs the hell out of me. It is an oem hood and doesnt look to be tweaked in any way. I tried twisting it some but it didnt help much.

have you tried lowering the latch? im sure youve already twisted the bump stops all the way down right? if youve already done both of these have a friend hold the hood up on the opposite corner and pull down on the high side until you hear poppin and crackin. dont worry its just the glue breakin loose itll be fine.

Alright ill give it a shot. I did move the bump stops down. And i used a file to grind the latch mount holes out a bit and moved it down but it wasn't enough.

I can see it kinda getting a little disformed in the middle already so i dont know how much more it can handle.

Even my '08 doesn't line up right. And it doesn't pop open anymore when I 'pop' the hood. My 1970s blazer had issues with the hood back in the day. Chevy has never really got hoods right...that and fuel gauges lol.

If elongating the latch mounting holes so the latch would move further down doesn't work I would get a piece of wood right above the rad support and have some else hold the other side down while you push down on your side, I had to do this!
