Why the push for E85? It's being phased out slowly and you also wouldn't need quite the fuel system on gas. Run some good 93 and splash some race gas in if you want to beat on it IMO

Cheap race gas, about $.50 a gallon cheaper then 93 and 105 Oct. Even with only a 25% mix with 93 only need to fatten it up about 6% in the tune and I can run a 3-4 more degrease of timing then on strait 93 and you can really feel it at 11-12psi on my high comp 6L. Unleaded race gas is about $10 a gallon.

I understand the benefit on something You're going to push all the time, but the volume you need just offsets the cost savings in some cases. The octane and ability to run more timing is great and I can see the attraction on something that's going to be more dedicated to one purpose, but on a DD, I'd much rather build less fuel system, run a bit more conservative tune, be able to get fuel anywhere and just mix in some real race gas and turn it up whenever id like to.... I guess there was just never enough room for me on the E85 bandwagon

I guess I don't mind dropping the cash on some unleaded 110. I'm not saying there's all disadvantages, I know there's definite benefits but building a fuel system around a fuel that may not be available much longer and having to search even now to find it just kinda doesn't make sense to me.

I'll just make my own e85 if they stop selling it at the pump. Moonshine ftw

Finished up hardwiring the AFX wideband in today and got the sensor calibrated. Now I just have to figure out where to place the big ugly display box.

Also bought a fire extinguisher for the truck at Costco yesterday.

Just waiting on exhaust and I'll be driving this thing to and from work again. Driving the 1.6L Mini Cooper is really getting to me lol.

Well, I'm so bored out of my mind right now at work I figure I'll just throw up some psuedo "updates" (not really updates since I haven't done anything yet, But I have spent more money, shocking).

-Have a catch can on the way (one that retains a true PCV system intended for boosted apps).
-Purchased a MBRP 4" turbo back Duramax exhaust (looks to be super easy to adapt). Only question will be the hanger locations and whether or not I can get the 4" pipe over the axle with enough clearance.

The MBRP is what I plan on doing also. Hit up Roger, he helped install one on Daniel's truck.

Eager to hear it on another truck, sounds mean on Daniels

Thing is I want this thing to be tame, mainly because I dont need to neighbors getting on my *** about firing it up early in the morning when I leave.

I'm not sure on the actual specs of the MBRP muffler but it looks short so I doubt it does all too much. I bet just running the pipe out back over the axle has a greater effect on sound reduction.

As far as adapting the exhaust to my downpipe it looks to be very straightforward based on the pics.

The turbo back kit basically has a straight section of pipe that goes all the way and connects to the Dirtymax's downpipe. I'll just cut the end of that off and hook it up to my DP. I bought a 4" Walker coupler to get the pipes together and some Torca 4" Accuseal clamps. The MBRP kit does come with those crummy u bolt clamps and I'm debating tossing this in favor of all Torca clamps. I'd like to avoid deforming the pipe incase I need to remove the stuff in the future.
