Default Roll bar build up

Working on the truck again!! Seems like it never ends for some reason. Anway hoping to knock out the roll bar this week so I can take it out to the 1/8 mile this Sunday. So far I'm seeing about 9# of boost and is a blast to drive. I've probably put about 50 miles or so. Ha!! Anyway just want to get some Ideas. Post up some pics of your roll bar/cage. I'm off this Thursday and going to try and knock it out in one day. Also I really dont want the rear bars going out of the back window so I'm thinking of mounting them right bellow the window and out the back to the shock tower. Thoughts??

There is a way to do it where it can be legal, still keep all the bars within the cab of the truck..

Thats what I'm going for. I do plan on driving it on the street a lot so I really dont want the full blown race look. I still want the bars coming out the back to tie everything together though. I hope the bars out the bottom of the window are more then enough to take it to most 1/4 mile tracks. Wonder what the time limit would be 9.99??

NHRA rules currently state that any car running an ET in the 1/4 mile of 11.49s or faster must have a roll bar consisting of 5 points minimum. This includes one main hoop (with seat brace bar), two rear hoop support bars, and the driver's door bar. Roll bar kits are typically 6 point (includes passenger door bar) or 8pt (includes 2 more lateral supports to bolster the main hoop. A 10 point roll cage is required for cars running 10.99s or quicker ET's or faster than 135mph trap speed. The 10 point adds a roof hoop, which connects to the top of the main hoop and is supported in the front by two windshield post runners, which connect to the floor near the door bar mounts. On all cars requiring a roll cage, if the OEM firewall has been modified (in excess of 1 square foot for transmission removal, not including bolted-in components) a lower windshield or dash bar of 1 1/4 x .058-inch 4130 chrome moly or 1 1/4 x .118-inch mild steel is mandatory for connecting the forward cage supports.

rear bars must be within 6"s from the top of the main hoop. New rules allow a combination of a full cage with a funny car cage that allows you to delete the rear downbars and can be certified to 7.50. Expensive and time consuming way to go, I'd rather just stick two bars out the rear window and save some weight and cash.

Although not book legal. The rollbar I did on mine is allowed to 10.0 in 1/4 or 6.5 in the 1/8th.

Pretty sure if you dont go through the back window, and dont do a funny car looking cage like Caseys, thats its only going to cert to 11.00 or slower. Which is useless.

Well see what the limit will be. Going to see how this year goes, if I dont do much street driving I'll probably add the rear bars. I usually go to the 1/8mile here and if I can have a limit of 6.0 that will be plenty
