will chilled intake air help out?
#1
on my long drive to a job today i thought of the idea of refigerating the air coming into the intake by a means of a intercooler and dowtherm( liuqued that wont freeze till like -30. the idea is to sit the intercooler in a box of some sort that will aloow the intercooler tobecome very cold like 0 degrees. the question is will this make a bbig enough difference to fool with all the effort, if this has allready been done oon a N/A engine direct me to it, other wise let me know what yall think

Will it help, yes....but if you plan to use the AC system to chill the fluid then no, because the extra power required to turn the compressor will negate all gains from a cooler intake. You could try meth or water injection if you are concerned about really high temps (Which I wouldnt be NA).

i was planing on using a intercooler and cirulating dowtherm or dow frost that i freeze in a deep freezer and then put it in a contator that is insulated very well and use a small pump to circulate it around the intercooler which i would build a conationer around it. hopin to get like 0-20 IATs
using very little energy from the power supply
