Yea it looks a lot stronger. I'll be honest though I'm surprised at how low that flash RPM is.

What were your cam specs? What diameter is this converter?

When you stall it up on the foot brake it goes to about 2400 or so I didn't do it in the vid tho I still need to do some tuning and raise the shift points and rev limiter.

Anyone know what hell causes this? It did it with old converter and the new one and in 4th gear when it locks up. Trans related or tune? Has to be between 40-50 mph will go away.

Watch the tack, you would think the beat dropped..

Wtf tuning issue or what? - YouTube

I'd imagine that's the converter clutch dragging. No wonder the other one took a ****.
What is the converter pressure set to in the tune?? Also take a other look at lock and unlock speed. Seems to be it's bouncing between the 2 before you hit a high enough speed. I believe you need 5 mph between the 2 to keep weird **** from happening.

You need to avoid that situation at all costs I would think.

Also it seems to me that converter is a hell of a lot tighter than a 3400. I have an FTI 3000 278mm in a dd and it's looser than that. Yours should be much looser between the added stall speed and smaller diameter.

I dunno man lol I can stall it up on the foot brake up to about 2400 it is a nitrous converter tho could be why it's tight.

I did make an appointment yesterday to to get it tuned and some of the issues worked out before something breaks. I'm putting a normal tcase in it so I can get it on the dyno and finally get some numbers and I'm gonna rebuil the awd while it's out.

I was gonna swap in the t case from another truck that's 4x4 but they are an inch longer.. Come to find out. **** man I'm getting more and more interested in going 2wd. I decided to say the hell with the viscous it's gonna get a work out.. I'm gonna just pull the dam front shaft and get this trucks tune wiped out and starting over.. Not happy with the way it runs, mechanically it's a monster and needs someone good with tuning to make the issues go away... Before it ruins more parts. O and the Trans got hot again even after 1500 dollars in new parts.

I wouldn't pull that front shaft. You should be able to tune it just fine on the street.

Is your exhaust touching the cooler lines for the trans?

It was really close with the stock lines but I relocated them away from any exhaust. The new lines I ran are about 4" away from any exhaust. I'm out of patience with it and there are no awd dyno anywhere near where I live. And the closest ones only have 140" wheelbase. I tried the street tuning thing but it takes forever.

I have a 4wd transfer case and driveshaft but you're pretty far away from me...

You know if you pull the front drive shaft you will fry the Viscous coupler in the AWD unit and it will probably have to be towed home if you even get to finish tuning it???

You will have to pull the trans to convert it to 2WD and you will still need a driveshaft.

If you go the 4x4 option at least it can be shortened. If you go 2WD you will need another driveshaft.
