Thanks Joey, everyone needs a tow vehicle right?

Until I can get a better security system on the van I'm holding off on drawing too much attention to it with exterior mods.
Got a list of things that still need doing. Eventually it'll happen.
So am I! While camping I thought of a few ways to make that work. Cool thing about a van and that ******* is you open the back doors and throw a sheet between the two doors and you now have privacy while shitting!!
I've thought of that as well as a collapsable shower, again placing it between the two rear doors when opened.
Do it Do it!! What's stopping ya?

So I bought this at the stealership...

According to someone on a different forum, it's really just plug and play in a sense since the vehicle harness is the same regardless of the options list. Someone mentioned to me that I might have to enable Cruise Control in the PCM so I'm not sure if it will really be plug and play but there's only one way to find out right?
I really hope this works!

So as I mentioned last night, I was gonna try and add cruise control to my van and today I did it!!
That **** really was plug and play!
I had my doubts but sure enough it was super easy to do and works like a charm!
So since I am unabashedly a picture ***** and I think it helps give people who eventually want to do this an idea of what it entails, here's a couple pics...
Pulled the column cover off (not sure why GM wanted to make it so difficult and use star screws instead of regular phillips, flathead or Allen wrench screws
Luckily I had ONE and it happened to be the right size)...

Pulled the unit off and found a unused clip attached to the column harness, hmmm wonder what that could be for?

Here's a look at the two units, they are exactly the same except for the cruise control unit has a wire that comes out of it and conveniently enough that is the Cruise control wires.

So I plugged it in and put it back together and went for a little test drive and look at what popped up on my cluster when I put it in Cruise control...

******* sweet!!
NOTE: This was for a Diesel Drivetrain...if you want to do this on a gasser you would most likely need to get a TAC (Throttle Actuator Control) Module for those who have DBW and not sure abuot those who have cable driven Throttle boddies. There is no Throttle body on a Diesel so it's not the same concept.
