No I haven't, the ones I like are cast I believe and a friend told me if I plan on towing I need to stick with forged or aluminum wheels. The cast ones are nice and cheap but will not be as reliable if I plan on towing 15,000 lbs.

NOTE: This was for a Diesel Drivetrain...if you want to do this on a gasser you would most likely need to get a TAC (Throttle Actuator Control) Module for those who have DBW and not sure abuot those who have cable driven Throttle boddies. There is no Throttle body on a Diesel so it's not the same concept.
It's most likely the same since the DBW controls the cruise, at least it's like that on the trucks.

Haven't done much to it lately, been using it hauling stuff and bikes around and it's such a useful vehicle I'm really loving it. Did a quick 1000 mile trip and averaged high 19mpg (hand calculated) with the van. In town I get high 17's to mid 18's mpg and on the highway I'm in the low-mid 20's. I won't get around to doing the exhaust and tune upgrades till next year but it should hopefully put me in the mid 24-26mpg range.
Here's a pic I took a few days ago in central Cali...

I did buy a Tempurpedic mattress Pad for the bed, didn't need it because the bed was really already comfortable but you can never make it too comfortable!

I also bought a black fitted sheet, cut some holes in it so they fit over the legs and Clips and (Don't laugh) sewed the opening so that they wouldn't keep tearing. So now it's pretty pimp looking.
I bought a hitch carrier a few weeks and it worked ok. I was delivering furniture to some family members and couldn't fit the bike in the van with the furniture so figured this would work. It wobbled a little bit but the main problems were that it is not level, the driver's side of the carrier is about 6-8 lower than the passenger side, so when backing up or driving up a steep driveway the carrier will scrape.
Another problem is the carrier is made in China...so it is under engineered and if I tie the straps down too much the whole thing "bannana's".
I've got a few ideas to make this thing more sturdy in the future should I chose to keep it but whatever, it worked.

Heading out to the desert tomorrow for 3-4 days of bike riding so I'll update with how it worked out it the hot/cold desert with the new bed and sheets! Can't wait!!

Sick bike and sick van!
19mpg ain't too shabby is it !!!!!
Nice setup for camping/sleeping , but looks like you've been watching bang bus episodes hahaha!
Some guys just have no van love do they ? I get the free candy remarks all the time, but I really do enjoy driving it daily ,it rides awesome and feels like a real vehicle, not a tiny cheap POS, except its hard to see sometimes , love that I can haul stuff and keep it dry
