Default Project EFI to Carb in my 2007 Silverado

Well, I've decided to do something a little bit different from the normal this next year on my truck. Most people will say "what a dumb idea" blah blah blah, but I'm going to take a bit of an old school approach at going fast next year.

The parts list I have worked up so far is:
Quickfuel 950cfm e85 Carb
MSD 6LS Ignition
20gallon Aluminum Fuel cell
Holley Billet 150 fuel pump w/12-803 regulator
Push lock fuel line

Still trying to figure out which throttle pedal to use and which/how long of throttle cable I need to buy. Thinking prolly just a 99-02 silverado pedal and some kind of Lokar cable. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

Find you a stock 99-02 cable and I'll machine you piece to connect to your carb.

I did a build a few years ago in my 2003 Silverado where I built a sbc with a carb. It was interesting. It was worth seeing peoples faces when I opened the hood. A lot of people said I was the dumbest person in the world, but I was the only one around with a carb'd small block chevy in a newer truck. GL in your build and have fun. Post some pics

04silveradoMykk did this swap a couple years ago on his NBS reg cab. Was a 355 if I remember right. It turned out really nice and sounded great, but I think he sold it because of the poor gas mileage.

Yea I talked to him a few times during my swap. I built a 383 and it was fun but not very reliable. I just got done swapping the 383 out for a 408 LS motor.

I'm not getting rid of the LSx. Just putting a carb on it. Gas mileage is of no concern, but I'm positive I can match my e85 mpg with efi. It was around 14mpg.

To be honest, mainly just to try something different. Also I'm tired of the factory fuel injection. I bought my truck brand new with 22 miles on it and it's been an electrical nitemare ever since. So, I'm getting rid of it as much as I can. A good buddy of mine that will be helping me with the tune up thinks we'll make more power as well. Maybe we will, maybe we won't. It's going to be a fun project none the less

At some point I'll go back to fuel injection, but it will be aftermarket and have a couple turbos hangin off the front of it
