so what we are looking at goes into your intake runners?

If the spacers line up that poorly I would have just skipped them. They can create fueling issues anyway... fuel sits in the cracks they create between the manifold and heads. I would be too paranoid that **** would break off and be ingested.

Seems like a terrible idea to me, but I'm far from an expert. Are the spacers metal? If so maybe have someone build them up by welding and then grind them down to match the heads/intake interface, sort of like porting a head at that point...

I’m using A-788 Splash Zone Epoxy for this particular deal. I’m trying to smooth out the transitions for the airflow. I’m not concerned with fuel pooling anywhere w/ or w/o the spacers. The injector is aimed straight into the chamber/center of valve. It’s actually a straighter shot with the spacer. The spacer ports are larger than the head/manifold ports so that’s another reason for the epoxy. You can see in my professional-ish-ing-ly drawing how it looks before the epoxy. The new design is almost like a raised port/tunnel ram deal. The extra volume the spacers provide is muted with the epoxy but I believe it’ll help with airspeed and flow. Once I get my process dialed in and I’m happy with the shape etc. I plan to coat the epoxy with top coat the to act like a barrier/binder and cross my fingers none of it gets eaten.

No way in hell I'd be playing with that kind of fire in an intake port. Sometimes the juice just ain't worth the squeeze.

Shoot man, mail me the spacers/tub/etc and I'll build them up with weld.

I do not trust that epoxy under the stress of heat and airflow. Something bad will happen, especially with how thin it gets.

$25k into a motor, don't let a $7 tub of epoxy and an idea on a whim bring it down

I'm not trying to bust your *****. I'd be genuinely concerned with any kind of epoxy being subjected to the heat, velocity, vibration, and contacting with fuel. If that stuff breaks or flakes off, you're in trouble.

I see see what you're trying to accomplish and I get it. The sum of these small efforts may result in some gains. But at what cost/risk? What you are doing with these ports, you should strongly consider having them welded up, then you could grind them to the shape you want, buff, polish, micro-whatever you wanted to and even put some crazy coating on them to help with fuel not clinging... go crazy. But the epoxy is a bad call. I don't care if it's made out of some space shuttle ****. I damn sure wouldn't do it with that much cash wrapped up in an engine. At the end of the day it's your time, your engine and your wallet. Good luck with it.
