thank you!

This weekend is the date. Going to disassemble and start phase 2. But I could use some options.
-should I remove the rear spring mounts from the frame? They wont be used or will they be in the way. I will be cutting the spring mounts off the axle, so going back would be difficult anyways...
-is it just me or do you guys think the frame coating sucks? Any recommendations on something better i can at least hit with the cab back?

If you're cutting the mounts off the axle, might as well cut them off the frame as well. Will look much cleaner.

Can't wait to see it all together.

I have seen a couple trucks out here get the whole undercarriage sprayed with line-x. Obviously that's gonna make it a pain in the *** to do any additional mods and really more for a finished product but it looks damn good and holds up really well.

Frame coating is good but from what I have heard you should not hit it with Line-X

Curious where you've heard that, as well as why. Like I said, I have seen it done on a couple of different trucks.

If Line-x chips at all you are screwed when water gets in and rusts it from the inside out. That won’t realistically happen but I’d rather see a frame get painted and make sure that everything is all good every now and then.

If you Line-X it then you are also making any future repairs etc more difficult because you now have a thick layer of tar basically over all the bolts and metal so no more welding.

Just my opinion

Line X sounded great but Snake has a good point...

Made some progress tonight, little teaser.

Use an Epoxy paint. Being in California I don't think you will have any issues. Just make sure you get as much coverage as you can in all the hard to reach area's.

True! We use epoxy paint on our farm equipment and it seems to hold up.

Got started a little later than I wanted🤦‍♂️

Running out of light!
axle mounts welded, panhard mounted, 4 link tight. Now its upper bag mounts and double check everything.
