Just curious because I believe the 2002 PCM uses a 12V AC request signal from the HVAC module. The 2005 HVAC module uses serial data for the request.

Not sure if the HVAC module needs to see the engine run flag as true on serial data in order to operate, or at least the BCM needs to see this as the Power Mode Master in order to tell the HVAC module to transition from Awake to Run mode.

I'm still kinda confused on what I'm going to have to do to the wiring to make the ac work.

Got the oil gauge hooked up I have a good 40 psi at idle. Took off the valve covers and some of my rockets have side to side play. But they are tight torque wise. My push rods are 7.4 but I ordered a length checker just to be safe.

Rockers having some side to side looseness to them when the valve is closed and lifter is on the base of the lobe is actually somewhat normal, unless its just a ridiculous amount of movement then theres an issue.... Ive had brand new gm lifters that were soaked before installing take a few seconds to pump up properly..

That makes sense. I didn't really pay attention to the rocker position to see if the valve was closed. I've started the truck about 5 times so far the longest it has ran is about a minute. I started it today and rev'ed it a little but the knock only got louder so i turned it off all in about 45 secs. I assume the lifters would be primed by now.

Yeah it be should at this point! If you take both valve covers off and start it it should be fairly ovbious which lifter it is... Probably want someone else to crank it, and shut it off... Just as a side note i have an exhaust leak that had me chase a lifter knock for a few minutes until i realized it was a leak at the manifold flange...

I'll check into that too im pretty confident i tightened the manifolds down good since i put them on while on the engine stand
