Can you remember what fitting you used from the rail to the regulator? I have the same rails and X1 reg. Really like the look right off the rail

Its a well built truck so is there a particular reason you can’t daily drive it like it is.it a shame you built such a beautiful and well thought out truck to only enjoy it for a short time from what I read and seen you have some of the best parts and you make sure everything is perfect before you move to the next thing to do so surely it’s going to be reliable if driven reasonably I know as well as anyone if the power is there it’s hard to stay out of it and getting on it here and there is ok.now if it was a kid owned I would feel totally different.you are a gear head like the rest of us on here I can’t see you being happy driving something totally stock every day.if it not costing you anything except for what you buy for it drive it if it breaks park it drive the other truck until you can fix it

Pricey, but allows you to clock the regulator correctly up and down with the rail:

A big part of the decision is the loss of interest in the truck at it sits. The truck won't be stock, just not as modified as it is now. It'll be leveled on 33s and the stock GMC Texas edition 20s, it'll still have the driveline and 4l85e so it should drive really nice

Gotcha are you not a fan of lowered trucks since you going run 33”s.my daily I guess you could say is a 06 z71 crew cab that has a rough country complete front and back leveling kit and my son bought me a new set American Force 20x12 with 33.12.50-20 tires and it’s all 3 months old and coming off I was running rep 22”s and 35’s when he told me ups was bringing me my birthday present from him now I’m 45 years old and don’t get me wrong they look good as hell but I was already tired of climbing in the truck I have had 10 back surgeries and puts a hurting on me getting in and out of it plus rides like **** so I was getting ready to take lift and big tires off and lower the truck I never use 4wd unless it snows which it does once and a while but not much here in South Carolina and when it does and if I have to go somewhere I will put in 4wd no different than now except for height difference. I have had a bunch of trucks in my time some has been 4wd lifted and some been lowered and I will say lowered is my favorite if it’s done right it will ride better than it did stock and I don’t haul anything big in bed I’m funny and don’t want my paint scratched so I have a trailer for that but everyone is different some people thinks they should be left completely stock because it’s made to work not mine I don’t even let it get dirty.i have enjoyed following your build I was burnout on my obs until I started reading your build so you have to keep building something

I love lowered trucks, I've had 3 of them that were 4/6 or lower. I work in the construction industry, so getting onto jobsites with a slammed truck that can barely make it over a speed bump is just not possible. I am not a fan of stock height trucks, or slightly lowered trucks either. I think it either needs to be slammed, or lifted to look good personally. With the parts I plan to put on the truck, it'll be basically be same height as a cranked 4wd truck, nothing crazy. I used to have a LBZ duramax with a 6" lift and that was fun but too much hassle since I worked in and out of the bed of the truck multiple times a day, and I'm 6'5" tall.

No turning back now. It definitely comes off easier than it goes on. Had almost the entire kit off within 2hrs. The turbo itself was tough because of the heat cycles and lack of access to the hardware on the Chinese turbo

too bad, I was hoping to see you at the track in October but I totally understand. What, exactly, is coming off the truck?

Everything in the engine bay right now. It will end up being stock with long-tubes and an intake. Once that's done and driving I will do the suspension, but first I have to pull the parts off my daily drive to put that back to stock.

More progress. All turbo parts are off, oil pan is plugged for both supply and drain, coil packs are back up top, and all gauges and wiring has been removed. Just waiting on motor mounts and long tubes before I can progress any further.
