I posted above about this but I don't think you saw the post. When you do the door speakers up and your 4x100 do the foam around them between the speaker and the door/trim panel. Makes a big difference in sound quality. They do it on high end sq systems, that's where I got the idea. I did a before and after on my last system and will never go without them again.

If you don't want to make your own like I did a company called fast rings makes them and they are about $25. If you don't trust what I say about them read the reviews..

Yes, you want your driveshaft/pinion angle to match that of the trans/driveshaft so that the u-joint harmonics cancel each other out.

Essentially, you will want your transmission angle and your pinion angle to match and ideally be between 0.5 and 3 degrees.

Trying to get rid of a terrible 60mph vibration I'm having... it makes the truck undriveable. Swapped the yoke on the driveshaft thinking it was possibly out of phase since it wasn't marked before the yoke was installed, but that didn't do a thing. Going to try and have the rear tires rebalanced, then I guess check brake drums.

Jeebalow is right on the money about u-joint angle in post 452. Your measured angles above seem like the cause. I fought a similar issue years ago and have a thread that explains what I found. Read post #52. https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...-481265/page6/

I was measuring wrong with my original post of the Tremec app. I installed a 2* shim and then remeasured with an angle finder and it was off. Took that shim out and I was at 1.5* trans and 1.5* pinion. It's tough with a lowered truck getting in there and measuring, so i need to get it up in the air with plenty of clearance to make sure it's right. It vibrates with the TBSS wheels and the OEM wheels. I suppose it's possible that both sets of tires are unbalanced, but unlikely since they both do it at the same MPH.

DSS in San Antonio is only open on weekdays s it's tough for me to get down there and have them rebalance it, but that may be the entire issue.

I drive by it every day coming home from work. Do they do quality work on aluminum shafts? I've taken my stock aluminum shaft from my extended cab to another local driveline shop and they booger welded weights on there and painted it black and they flung off after a few miles... Trying to avoid that sort of transaction again

Yes they do very good work. My last truck had a ds made by them. It was pushing 750rwhp and never had an issue with it.

Dropped the driveshaft off this morning to get checked for balance. I went ahead and removed the rear end cover just to be sure it was still good., here's what I found:

Seems fine to me, still have 0.006" backlash, wear pattern looks good (I think) and everything else was tight. No teeth had any damage, and there was nothing in the bottom of the diff that seemed odd. I still have not heard any sort of whining or noises from the diff since I built it.

I did notice that with the brake drums and wheels still attached, when I spun the pinion, I could feel a noticeably more difficult spot. It didn't stop the wheel or anything, but I could tell a difference. I may try either turning the brake drums, or having them checked in some way.
