Where are you guys buying billet shafts at? What I've collected so far, is the input and intermediate shafts should be upgraded to billet and the output shaft is fine being left stock.

The stock main shaft is good to 1200 HP per Jake (Jake's transmissions).

Yea then I better do it while I'm in there. No reason not to besides the added cost, right?

Yeah, if cost is no issue then no reason not to. But I couldn't justify the extra $350 or $400 whatever it was. Mine is otherwise fully built, billeted, etc. I thought the 36 element super drum was more important than the billet main shaft. 1200 HP is more than I will be pushing.

I have heard anywhere from 700-1200. I dont think anyone really knows.

Atomic should upgrade his. Should the average turbo truck. Probably not in my opinion.

Upgrading the drum is different i was told that damn thing pushes some serious RPM real quick too on a downshift.

I mean, I beat on the stock shaft with 1000+hp for a couple years now, I think it did pretty good.

The drum comes to a complete stop on the 1-2 shift right? So that is why RPM is the killer? So if you are pushing 7000rpm through first gear, and it has to stop instantly, I see why it takes a beating.
