m&h drag radials 275/50/17

May be hitting the dyno tomorrow...tested out the new converter, slip is still a little higher than I would like but its much better, 14% compared to 30% before. Makes a huge difference!

does the slip amount vary depending on the gear? Meaning 1st is different and 2nd then 3rd... I am just curious.

Yes, generally the higher the gear the more load you put on the converter. For instance before I had mine restalled at 6200 engine rpm the converter slip amount was 1100 in 1st gear, 1300rpm in 2nd gear, and 1500rpm in 3rd gear.

I also tightened my plugs down to 0.020 and gained a couple psi of boost, which tells me it was blowing the spark out before.

Just out of curiosity what plugs are you running? And have you ever tried a smaller tipped electrode/race cut plug?

Right now they are br7ef @0.020. I have used b8efs in the past but they did not idle well at all. Ive only tried the tr6s, br7ef, and b8efs. Which plugs are you reffering to?

Something like an iridium tipped plug like an Autolite XP103 or an Autolite Racing AR103.

Both, especially the iridium, would offer a stronger spark concentration to thwart off spark blowout.

How does the truck run with the gap set to .020?
Does idle any different?
You picked up some boost so does it feel like it picked up some power to?

Damn that is a tight gap. Does it blow the spark out when running it at .030?

Yea it seems to mis a lot with a 0.030 gap, and seems to mis above 20psi with a 0.025 gap. No more missing with a 0.020. It idles fine.
